- The magnetic axis of the property should be aligned to the geometric north-south axis.
- Let the premises be rectangular or square. Let there be no corner cuts or extensions.
- Maximum window openings to North, East and Northeast. Least to South, West, Southwest and Southeast.
- Washrooms/toilets must not be in North, East, Northeast, Brahmasthaan and Southeast.
- In case of Duplex, internal stairs are allowed in South and West if enclosed in a Stair-room. If stairs are along one side of open hall, need remedial work.
- If looking for an independent bungalow, let the underground water tank (UGWT) be in Northeast or North. But, the depression should not be between the main gate and main door. UGWT in other zones is unacceptable!
- Ideal placement of electric meter is in Southeast. Second best is in West.
- Slope of the plot/ floor can be from Southwest to Northeast, West to East or from South to North.
- Southwest should be heaviest and high in terms of load. Northeast should be lightest and low.
- Any double height roof is good in North, Northeast or East.
- If multiple levels are found in floor, lower levels must be to Northeast (lowest), North (next lowest) and East (low).
- Water bodies and depressions like pits, rainwater harvesting pits, septic tanks are not good in Southeast, South, Southwest, West.
- Septic Tank is permitted in Northwest.
- Maximum open space around the house is good in northern and eastern sides. If it is less, do not choose the premises even if all other parameters are found correct. The load of the building is towards energy source directions of north, northeast, east and this load reduces positivity.
- Any fruit bearing or other tall trees are good in energy sink-directions of Southeast, South, Southwest, West.
- Plants and lawns represent Fire element. They must not be found in north or northeast as these zones stand for Water element and it indicates depletion of Water element which is nothing but reduction in income.
- Open terraces and balconies are not permitted towards South, West and Southwest.
- Main door positions in corners require vastu remedial work.
- If main door is towards Energy-sink directions, proximity to lifts and elevators is not good.
- There should not be any road-hit situation to the property. In case of apartments, long corridors and passages should not directly end in the main door of the premises.
