- They do not have individual boundaries to keep away the negative/unhealthy vibrations.
- There is no way each flat on each floor can have a proper auspicious placement of main door. Main doors are the breaks in the perimeter of the house through which energy loss happens and hence such energy loss needs to be strategic.
- The concept of attached bath for each room in flats causes havoc. Toilets are energy blocks as load of four walls is located in a small area and are hence permitted only in directions like South, Southwest and West from which unwanted vibrations encroach the interiors. The load of toilets are hence best suited there to control/suppress those vibrations. But lack of awareness about vastu principles among the builders or disinterest to follow the principles to cater to the demand of purchasers has resulted in indiscreet placement of toilets in sacred/positive zones like northeast, north, east. Such placements cause serious challenges in the lives of the occupants.
- Balconies and Open-terraces that act as extensions to a direction. In apartments, such extensions are given in all directions. Such features disturb the rhythm of life. In some cases, they might cause untimely events also.
- Ducts and lift-wells in the building create voids (zones without energy). They are detrimental if found along south/west/ Southeast/ South-western periphery of an individual flat, especially if the main door is also in those directions.
- The common walls between adjacent flats cause blockage to the most benevolent north/ east energy streams. This is unavoidable in flats. Hence, energising these directions artificially is essential. Ensure that at least one of these two directions has maximum window openings and lot of light enters into the flat from these directions.
- There is no guarantee of placement of depressions like bore well, underground water storage tanks are restricted to most suitable northeast/ north directions. Although effects of such anomalies are shared among all flats, experts’ opinion in cases where such borewells / sumps are found towards southern or western sides of the flat being chosen needs to be obtained.
- In many cases, the main doors open directly into long corridors (resulting in road-hit like situations).
- Placement of swimming pools to negative directions is a hazard, especially if the pool is sunken (depth goes below ground).
- Huge bay windows along South, Southeast, Southwest and West along with open utility areas spoil the solar reference.
- It is highly difficult to do any structural corrections in apartments as the builder may not permit you to carry out the same.
It is wiser to choose carefully before investing. Many people think that ill-effects of vastu faults in their rental flats do not affect them. This is untrue as the energies of a Vastu (house) are first directly experienced by those living in it and not the owners who may be living far away.
It is next to impossible to find a Vastu-compliant flat, in our opinion. Hence, do not be mislead by the tag “Vastu compliant flat” in the brochures. In 13 years of our experience, we have hardly come across a totally vastu compliant flat.
Lastly, do not go by the main door position. When you buy a flat with main door to good directions (North or East), all the balconies and bay windows end up being in opposite directions. Priority must be given to the maximum inflow of light and energy from north, northeast and east, then only to the position of main door. Having said this, avoid all flats with main door in Southwest as the owners generally tend to ‘not stay’ in such homes. You may observe that maximum rental flats are with this kind of main door position.
